The short version
Playloop Arcade is a small, hand-built collection of browser games. We don't ask you to sign up, we don't ask for your email, and we don't run analytics that track you across the web. The only data the site stores about you is your own high scores, and those live in your browser — never on our servers. This page explains that in more detail so you know exactly what's happening while you play.
What we store locally
When you finish a round of any game and beat the top-five threshold, the site saves your score (a number), an optional 3–12 character display name you choose, and a timestamp to your browser's localStorage. Nothing about that data is transmitted to us or to anyone else. If you clear your browser data — or open the site in private/incognito mode — those scores are gone. The display name is whatever you type in; we recommend not using your real full name, since it's stored in plain text on your own device.
What we don't collect
We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses (beyond what every web server briefly sees in HTTP logs to deliver pages), device fingerprints, location data, contacts, or any kind of profile. There are no user accounts. There is no login. There is no "contact us" form that emails us your message — see the Contact page for our address if you'd like to reach out directly.
Advertising and cookies
Playloop Arcade displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on prior visits to this site or other sites. You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services and how to opt out of personalized advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. We don't have any control over the contents of those cookies or the decisions Google makes about which ads to show — but we do try to keep ad placement out of the way of gameplay, only showing one ad per page and only after the game has ended.
Children
Playloop Arcade is family-friendly: there is no chat, no messaging, no user content, and no purchases. The games are simple classics. We don't knowingly collect any personal information from children, and we don't require any sign-up. Ads served by Google may be subject to Google's own family-safe controls; parents who want stricter ad behavior should review Google's settings linked above.
Changes
This policy may be updated occasionally — for example, if we add a new third-party service. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new revision date. You can always check the site's repository history (if/when made public) for the precise wording at any point in time.
